It may have been that the ’90s and ’00s were just an anything goes (ugly) time for entertainer fashion. It may have been that the baggy clothes of the day make everything rappers wore back then look foolish to us today. It may just be that guys grew up, got rich, and started rocking Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, and all the other brands that they could now afford.
Either way, Rappers Got Really, Really, Really Into High Fashion In 2013.
Kanye is example number one above: he went from pink polo, over-sized rugby shirts, and (fake) Louis Vuitton backpacks back in his College Dropout years to all-Maison Martin Margiela-everything (including a bedazzled mask) on his Yeezus Tour.
